Charlie is a resident of New Avalon, where nearly everybody has a personal fairy. All she's ever wanted to do is play basketball and cricket, but half of those hopes are dashed when Charlie finds out she is just too short to make even the lowest basketball team. So all she's left with is cricket and...a parking fairy. Charlie just doesn't understand why she can't have a fairy that can help her; it's not like she drives and other people like to use her to get good parking spots. It seems that Charlie's fairy is only good for driving her crazy.
Because she is so fed up with her useless fairy, Charlie decides to do whatever it takes to get rid of it. Her first master plan involves walking everywhere as to not give her fairy the opportunity to work. But walking turns out to be not such a good idea, as Charlie begins to rack up a multitude of demerits at New Avalon Sports High, the strict school she attends. But plan after plan fail, and Charlie finds herself having to go to more extreme measures each time. It's going to take some unexpected friendships and brainpower for Charlie to ditch her unwanted fairy once and for all.
