Belated winner, memes, and other stuff/news

It’s been a while since I’ve been on a comp, so I know I need to get caught up with everything bookish :D

First and foremost, a winner for my Holiday contest, and that is Lauren from Lauren’s Crammed Bookshelf. Congrats, Lauren, hope you enjoy the book!

Dominique from The Book Vault tagged me for the New Year’s Resolution meme, so I’ll have to share three New Year’s resolutions (all of which I’m coming up on the top of my head at this moment):

1. Study harder (especially in history class), so I won’t freak out when AP tests roll around
2. Not read when I should be doing homework
3. Get a haircut/take better care of my hair

Yeah, I know, shockingly thrilling. And I’ll tag: Carol of Bookluver Carol’s Reviews, Kelsey from Reading Keeps You Sane, and Liv from Liv’s Book Reviews. I hope that’s an appropriate number.

I did a post on the “I Heart Your Blog” award back in October, but since it’s still making its sweet way around the blogs again, I shall link back to my original post and list all those lovely peeps who have nominated me: Book Chic, Alea, The Book Girl, The Fox Reads, Just Listen Book Reviews, Bean Bag Books, Bookworm Readers, Book Nymph, Holly of Writer’s Block Reviews, Books Make Great Lovers, and Em from Em’s Bookshelf. I do not plan on joining any book challenges this year. Yes, I know that makes me sort of a killjoy, but everything has been so hectic lately that I decided to just take it easy, no stress. Plus, I only completed two out of the three challenges I joined last year, the 100+ Reading Challenge (see my sidebar), and the July Book Blowout Reading Challenge. The A-Z Reading Challenge was sadly incomplete.

And, I have over 100 followers!! Whoo hoo!

I feel so darn popular, thanks guys!!

I've done it!

What have I done, you ask. Well, I've completed the July Book Blowout Reading Challenge hosted by Blue Archipelago.

July Book Blowout Reading Challenge

Blue Archipelago is hosting a July Book Blow Out Challenge.

Just some info...

• You can sign up any time between now and July 14, here!!!
• To join you need to post about the Book Blowout on your blog - then set yourself a number of books to complete within the month!! :)
• Make sure you post a list of the books you managed to read by the deadline of August 7 to complete the challenge!!

The rules...

• Only books read between July 1 and July 31 count towards the challenge
• You can include re-reads - as long as they are read within the month of July
• Books you abandon will only count as half a book
• If you read to your children you can include all books which have more than 100 pages
• You can include up to two graphic novels
• You can include up to two audio books - (if you have a visual impairment that prevents you from reading then you can use just audio books for the challenge)
• Books you read for other challenges are eligible - use this as an opportunity to catch up!
• If you start a book before July 1 and then finish it during the month of July then you can count is as half a book

An extra incentive...
Entrants who complete the challenge are eligible to win an Amazon gift voucher of $20 (£10).

A-Z Reading Challenge

That's right, I've joined another reading challenge (even if it's a bit late). Thank you to Muffins.and.Books who tagged me to join it. I'm supposed to tag three more people, but being the lazy person I am, I'll just make it a free for all. Of course, if you decide to join, don't forget to sign up.

So what is this challenge? Well, I have to read 52 books. Easy right? But the catch is that there has to be a different book and a different author for every letter of the alphabet. That makes it much harder.

Because this page is already so cluttered, I am making a new blog to keep track of all the books for this challenge. You can check out my progress here. Feel free to leave book suggestions too.

100+ Challenge

I've joined my first challenge!! It's pretty easy, all I have to do is read 100 or more books in one year. I think I'll be able to complete that, and I already am nearly one-third of the way done!! Maybe I should just see how many books I can read in one year...
