Books are rated on a 5-point scale with .25 intervals.
5.0 Must read.
4.0 Recommended.
3.0 Average.
2.0 Disappointing.
1.0 Don't bother.
For the sake of classifying rated reviews into a reasonable amount of levels, ratings are rounded to the nearest whole number when tagged for ratings. This means that when you view "must read" reviews, for example, you are seeing reviews whose numerical ratings range from 4.5 to 5.0.
